Well this week I have been really busy with that launch of the new www.sonomasheriff.org. I am very happy with the site and how well the feedback has been. We looked it up the other day and it’s been 18 months since I started this process, plus 6 months of background.
This new site has a bunch of great features that the Sonoma County residents will find very useful. One of those is “Live Events”, it shows events as they happen with the department and this was one of the big programs that they wanted to have available to the public. This new feature is something I find myself watching thought the day.
I went with Slideshow Director for the media galleries because it makes adding all this content simple and it looks great! This new site is has a ton of media and we are constantly adding photos and video on a daily basis.
I had been playing with creating them a new digital badge for there web site but they wanted to stick with the origonal badge so last night I made a sample badge for their explorer program. As of today no one has commented on it. Oh well…

A sample I made for the Explorers Program.
I will continue to work with and support the Sheriff’s Department’s web site going forward and I couldn’t be happier. I am very lucky to be working with a great bunch of people.
We are going to start developing more features for the next version soon.

I am super excited about the new Dreamweaver CS4. It has a whole new look and the new layout is very intuitive. Everything flows much easier for me and the way I work. At the time I write this post I have on;y had a few hours to play with it but so far it’s been great.
One of the new features I am excited about is the ability to have 2 files open and working in the preview area. Now you can work on a CSS file and see the changes in the bottom of the split window. This is going to be something I use on a daily basis.
