We were at the Petaluma fair this weekend, it was a good time and we got to see “The Worlds Ugliest Dog” Contest. Strange event and even stranger to be a part of a show taping…

This week in Photography is a new podcast I have been listening to and if any of you know me I take a few photos with my Nikon so this podcast is right up my alley. Every week the guys go over basic tips and some more advanced techniques. They are a little different in the fact that they also offer video screen cast along with there audio poscasts.
The podcast starts off with weekly photography news and then they usually have an interview. As mentioned above they also drop some screen cast in between audio podcast.
Alex Lindsay and Scott Bourne are the hosts of the show and these guys are pro’s when it comes to digital media. Alex Lindsay is simply awesome and I really do value his opinion when it comes to equipment and techniques that he does.
Both Alex and Scott have great advice for photographers and if your new to photography you will fit right in with this podcast. They both keep you motovated to practice your skills with their flickr challange, don’t forget to check out there flickr group also.

Photoshop Express is a web based image editor.

From Lifehacker.com
More than a year after web-based photo editors began swarming the scene, Adobe this morning unveiled its free, long-anticipated Photoshop Express web app. It doesn’t have nearly a quarter of the options, tools, and tricks of its desktop-based namesake, but it seems like a good platform for anyone who likes to spend a little time refining, and then sharing, their digital photos. The Flash-based app has just 17 basic buttons for editing, a thumbnail display of all the different changes you’ve made, and the album storing (2 GB of space), import (from Picasa and Facebook, among others) and sharing features seem up-to-snuff. In other words, you won’t get layers, channels, and dodge-and-burn, but you can remove chocolate stains from white shirts pretty handily.

Finally more control over my flickr photos!

Screenshots:

It also have an upload status to see how your uploads are going. This is really a great feature when you are uploading a lot of photos.

This release fixes:
1. The complete brokenness on some Macs that left the spinning balls permanently.
2. The bug cowsandmilk reported about the upload button disappearing.
3. And much better IPTC data handling for titles and tags. Thanks to those who posted sample images for me - they were most helpful.
Without further ado, here is Flickr Uploadr 3.0 beta 2:
